8
Welcome to ScrapBook Blessings and the first CSDivas Fall Blog Hop!!! If you are coming from ANN's , you're in the right place! If you've just happened across my blog and would like to play along with with the CSDivas, then click HERE.We started yesterday, and I want to thank everyone who hopped on by :)  now for day 2 of our Fall Hop!!!

The Design Team members have created fabulous Fall creations to inspire you and to motivate you to create some projects, just perfect for the season. There will be prizes along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a grand prize up for grabs at CSDivas.  Here is a sneak peek...
So let's get started... I get the honor of having the "Back to School" theme so I decided to show a great little project you can whip up for your kiddo's favorite teacher.  (lot's of photos but so easy to make)  (This is project number two.  If you missed yesterday's, just scroll down to the previous post.)
  • Take a 12 x12 piece of cardstock ( you want something heavier for this project).  Score at 3"and 9", turn and score at 4 1/2"and 7 1/2".
 should look like this
  •  Mark the inside corner of each outside square.
  • Fold in and match up creases.  Do this for each corner square.
  • Apply adhesive, to each oustside wing.
  • Fold in towards the middle side and over lap wings.  Do this for both sides of the box.
  • Next place a little glue to the inside folds ( like on the left side) to tack down. No scissors needed with this project!!!  Just fold and glue.

  • Now it is time for the handles.  Cut (2)12"x1" strip of paper and another (2)12"x 3/4". You can just use one set of paper if you want to do a "basket"  handle.
  • I decided to use both strips to make up two handles.  I used glue dots to adhere handles inside box.
For anyone who completes a Back 2 School project ( Layout, card, altered art, tag, etc.) and links up will go into a drawing for my own prize. (Mr Linky is the post from yesterday)  Don't forget to upload at CSDivas too!!!

For the Grand Prize from CSDivas: 4 easy steps
  1. Sign up as a member of Creative Scrapbooking Divas. If you are not yet a member, is very easy to join, simply go to this link and register, we will approve your application as fast as we can.
  2. Visit each of the designer's blogs, leave a comment.  But, there's another catch....
  3. Each blog will have an Autumn leaf hiding somewhere with a word.  Rake up all the leaves to form the correct phrase then PM this phrase to Lori or Luisa on CSDivas site.  (Hint: 7 words and my word is the last post!!!!)
  4. Complete at lease  " 3 " of the 6 DT projects.  If you complete more than one then you get another chance to win.  Upload in the Blog Hop Event, HERE   (ex: complete my Back 2 School challenge and post it here and at the CSDivas site.)
You have until Tuesday 9/28 to post your comments and projectsHope this inspires you and I can't wait to meet you at CSDivas!!!!  To " fall "on over to our next blog, Guest DT Jamie

CSDivas Blog Hop (25th-26th)

8
Welcome to ScrapBook Blessings and the first CSDivas Fall Blog Hop!!! If you are coming from ANN, you're in the right place! If you've just happened cross my blog and would like to play along with starting at the beginning with the CSDivas, then click HERE.

The Design Team members have created fabulous Fall creations to inspire you and to motivate you to create some projects, just perfect for the season. The Blog Hop is 25th and 26th.  There will be prizes along the way at some of our DT members' blogs, AND there will be a grand prize up for grabs at CSDivas. Here is a sneak peek...

So let's get started... I get the honor of having the "Back to School" Fall theme so I decided to show a great little project you can whip up for your refrigerator to keep track of your kiddo's school week appointments.

For this project, I used my Gypsy to alter my calendar and Cricut Expressions for all the cutting.  I was choose the colors to match my kitchen decor. I have three kiddos and things can get hectic at home :)
This is what we will be making...
  • I picked up a dry erase board from the dollar Store
  • Used an 8 1/2" by 11" card stock
  • Using Designer's Calendar Cricut Cartridge on my Gypsy,  I was able to use the hide contour button and hide the blocks on the calender that I didn't need.
  • Using the Font on Designer's Calendar, I cut out each of the letters at 1", the weekdays (white)at 1" along their shadows (green)
  •  To line up my letters evenly, my secret weapon is repositional tape.  Works like a charm every time. (I'm just a crooked kind of gal, so don't mind my letters, lol)
  •  I pleated ribbon and using my stapler, fastening along the way.  Love how it turned out!  Using glue dots, I adhered it to my paper above the weekdays.
  •  Using the Rounded feature on Designer's Calendar, I was able to get my great circle with the words Back 2 School. 2.65".  I used the hide contour button again on the gypsy to get my circle behind the words, 3".  Came out great!
  • To finish it off, I used complementary Prima flowers in different sizes.
  •  Lastly, I used glue dots and fastened the layout to my dry erase board, and inked the outside edge of the board with black ink.
Hope you like it!!!! Now for how you can have fun with the blog hop!!!

Mini Bags Tutorial

1
I posted this at Creative Scrapbooking Divas. CSDivas is having a blog hop this weekend 9-25/9-26, hope you can make it :) For more information and a picture of the goodies see the previous post.

I have a great tutorial for you today...mini gift bags.  These are perfect to put some little treats in and give as a gift or party favor.  So let's get started...
  • First you need 8 1/2x11 cardstock.  Position paper lengthwise. Using scoring blade on paper trimmer or a peper scorer like what I have,  score paper at 2", 5", 7", and 10".
  • Turn cardstock, and score at 2" and 7".
  • Hold paper horizontally with the 2" section at the top.
  • Cut off all but one 2" tall section from the top. This will be the flap closure for the box.
  •  Cut the narrow piece at an angle to create tab for adhesive.
  • Make vertical cuts at the bottom to create 1 1/2" tall flaps, and cut off the narrow piece. This will be the bottom of the box.
(It should look like this)

  • Cut the top flap (in this case it is on the bottom) with decorative scissors or punch.
  • Use a bone folder or other straight edge to sharply crease all scored lines to shape box.

  • Apply glue close to side tab's score line.
  • Fold small flaps toward center of box, and large flaps over small flaps.

  • Apply glue to outside edge of large flap under what will be the box front. * I needed to trim my edge, cause when I pinched it together there was too much of a flap*

  • Glue bottom flap and apply pressure to finish bottom of box.
  • Line up front of box with back of box at top and pinch together.

  • Pull flap down to close box
  • Stamp, embellish, and adhere to box front any embellishments
I filled mine with Hershey Kisses for my BFF :)

I hope you give this a try and post your creations!!!
