Flamingo Challenge

1
Found a great new site:
One by One the Flamingos are Stealing My Insanity (whew, that's a mouth full, lol) is having a Jan challenge, along with looking for new DTs. I thought I would participate and try out.

Challenge: For this month, make a creation of any kind that features a Flamingo.

Here is what I did...  I used Life's a Beach and Learning Curve carts. I also used pink vellum, never used the stuff before.  I have to admit, I like it better when I'm holding the card closed.  The saying shows up better.  Still I'm pretty pleased with it :)

If you would, could you stop by and give a vote for my card?  Thanks!

My celebration is... New Years!  I went to Times Square to see the ball drop with friends, back in 97-98.  I was 22 yrs old and ready to take on the world, lol. I figured this would be a great time to finally scrapbook these old photos.  It was one of the coldest and wildest things I every done.  Just digging these photos out, brought back a lot of excitement and memory for me.
The little round white dot in the pics is the ball.  I was shocked on how small it actually is, lol.
It was fun making these pages.  I went old school, lol.  I used stencils, computer borders, and stickers.  I also did some "doodling" which I've never done on a layout before. And of course, I had to pull out the Cricut, lol.  I wanted it to seem busy and fun, not so perfect, just like that night.
Being a momma with three toddlers, it's hard to find a baby sitter now a days, so the closest I can get to the ball is on my tv, lol.  Hope you have fun with the blog hop!

My Blog Hop Challenge for you, is to create a layout using some of your New Year's pics.  Use the colors BLACK, WHITE, GOLD, SILVER, you can use all of them or any combination.  If you didn't party it up on New Years, use any recent party or get together!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!  Don't forget to post it in SANDY's HIR Blog Hop Challenge Entries

Now for the next blog, you want to head over to Pam's blog: DREAMER'S KLUB

If you leave a comment on my blog, you can get a chance to win some blog candy (sticking with the color scheme).  You don't have to be a follower but it would be nice :)   Please leave a way for me to contact you too.  I will use random.org to pick a winner on Tuesday the 18th.

BINGO V-day Card

1
Taking a break from blue and white Xmas cards and jumping to red and white Valentine ones, lol. Here is a card I made for Card Cupids. They are having a Valentine’s Card Blog Candy Challenge
I scraplifted this from a fellow cropper at the ScrapBook Blessings Club.  Very easy to do...
I got an image of a bingo card off the computer ( you can also use a real card but I used my last one prior- great find a garage sales),
Printed out I Luv You  (cut the same size as the blocks),
Taped 3 circle punches is black to the words
Used hot pink card stock ( 4.25 x 5.5 card),
Matted in black card stock
Set the pink bling with the I-Rock setter,
Glued a pre-made heart cut out,
Fastened the black ribbon to the heart,
And made the zig zags with my white gel pen.

Very Easy, Very fast and too cute!

Tutorial: Joy Fold Card

8
I am addicted to card folds. I love to cut and score and come up with a WOW card. Then I love watching people's faces when they open it up! You can google cards and come up with a ton of different folds.
This tutorial is for
Creative Scrapbooking Divas .  There will be a challenge soon with this card type so stay tune :)

Today we are going to learn how to may a "Joy" fold...
What you need:
  • One 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" cardstock
  • One 3" x 8" cardstock
  • Two 2 3/4" x 4" pattern paper
  • One 4" x 5 1/4" pattern paper
  • Scoring tool
  • Adhesive

Step 1: Score 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" cardstock at 5 1/2"

Step 2: Score your 3" x 8" cardstock at 4"

Step 3: Glue the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of pattern paper on the inside flap of the card

Step 4: Glue one of the 2 3/4" x 4" piece of pattern paper to the card front

Step 5: Glue the other 2 3/4" x 4" piece of pattern paper to the outside of your smaller folded cardstock piece

Step 6: Add glue to the back of your smaller flap and tape it to the inside of the card. Make sure the fold of the smaller flap is pointing to the right.

Step 7: If you want to secure the flap on the front, use an embellishment ( here I used a die cut from my Cricut) and fasten it with dimensionals. Slightly tuck the bottom left edge of the small flap to keep it closed.

Here is the finished card!!!!

I used the Sweetheart Cricut Cart for the word Love (3") and the small heart (1.5", I did the top layer and blackout features for the heart)in the corner to hold down my front flap. I traced the top layer with red stickles. Hope you like it!

I want to give a shout out to Madison from Funky Cards.  She did a beautiful sympathy card, it was my inspiration. Please check out her POST.  I also entered this card in My Creative Time throwback challenge
And in honor of Card Cupid's Valentine’s Card Blog Candy Challenge
