Teddy Bear Invasion 101

6
Hi Friends!  Sandy from Scrapbook Blessings here to show you another card tutorial for She's a Sassy Lady.  I have been on a teddy bear kick lately and was inspired (link is below) to make every bear on the Teddy Bear Parade cart from Cricut. So I wanted to show you my little tips in making a lot of diecuts for future projects in a short time.

Here is my Inspiration Bear...

So let the teddy bear assembly line begin!!!!

  • You need a bear (cut at 3"), glue pen, black scrap card stock, pink and tan color pencils, white gel pen, black sharpie

  •  Using the sharpie marker, fill in the nose, draw the mouth and the ear creases all following the cut lines on the die cut

  •  Flip the bear over and adhere a piece of the black card stock over the eye holes (tip: no one is going to see the back so you don't need to waste paper and cut another place bear in black unless you want a shadow, just use scrap pieces. I do this ALL the time)

  • Using the color pencils to color in the ears and muzzle (tip: if you are doing a lot of die cuts that have little pieces, try to find another medium to create the details ie: pencils, markers, stickles, etc). I think the color pencils give the bears a softer, "fuzzy" feel

  •  Using a distress marker or fine tip marker, draw the muzzle line that you see on cuddly little creatures. and the while ink gel pen to for the eyes and nose. I think it gives the bears a little dimension (tip: the BEST for details is pigment ink white pen by Singo. I have tried others and they just leave me frustrated)

There you go a ton of little bears for my parade.  This is a great idea for mass quantities for any die cuts.

Now all I have to do is put my little guys and girls into a baggie and as I want to make a card, just pull one out and decorate. (Tip: save your die cuts, even the "mistakes" like the wrong size or color, etc. Put them in a baggie and toss them in your embellishment/sticker draw. When you want to do a quick card, pull one out and there you have instant die cut without getting your machine out)

Here is my little example bear made into a card. He is the New Year Bear.

This guy was made by my little girl. She was watching mama make these and I just couldn't be stingy, lol. So I gave her one to decorate. Using my scrap pieces, she designed his outfit.

Here are a couple of other cards that I have done for My Crafting Channel Teddy Bear Series.

Walk in the Wild Side Blog Hop

34
Hi Friends!  Thanks for stopping by the blog hop today. You should have hopped over from Haidee but if you are coming in the middle, you can start with Lisa, our hop hostess. Make sure you leave a comment on all the blogs because there is some awesome giveaways!

We were asked to make a project that inspires us to "walk on the wild side".  For my project, I attempted animal masks for the kiddos, but they didn't come out how I wanted them to, so on to plan B...
I ask Ms Jessie-girl if she wanted to help Mama with a cute layout of my of her going to the zoo for the first time. She was excited and amazed that she went without her brother and sister. I laughingly told her that she was more than enough for us by herself at the time.

I had a cute zoo theme sticker pack and a couple of pictures that she picked out and this is what she came up with...

I think she did a great job and was really impressed on how she clustered some of the items. She told me it was because she watched me. (she is 8 now by the way).  I love how she has the monkey hanging from the picture!

And now it was Mama's turn. I tweaked it just a little bit and she loved it...
I added some stickles on the animals to make them pop, added a couple journal labels (someone suggested this in my comments from last hop and I loved the idea). And I punched out the corners of the 12x12 paper.
Here are some close ups...

So there you have it. I love scrapbooking with my kiddos and this was a great hop to scrap some of my older pictures! Thanks for stopping by, your next stop is Lucy.

Teddy Bear Parade

17
Hi Friends!  I was feeling scrappy today so I decided to do some challenge cards.  So in keeping with the Teddy Bear Parade theme here are a couple of them...

First is the New Years Bear.  He is a wobble bear.  Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of him in motion, lol?!?!?  Linking this guy up to...Craftin' Boutique Challenges- anything goes

Second is this cutie!  I did this for Die Cuttin Divas- back to school.  Can you tell I am ready to do the happy dance?!?!  For this card, I was going for the chalk board look, kinda messy but a lot of fun!

This card is my Jessie's favorite. I did her for the Paper Playtime pearl challenge.  Was going for the rock in the ocean effect, lol.
..

Last but not least... I did a cute girl pirate for Twisted Tuesday Challenge- pink outdoors. The inside says happy birthday in balloons.

I Love You Bear

6
Hi Scrappy Friends!  Today is "Would You Ever Guess @ My Cricut Craft Room"- Using a Border Feature.  I chose to do a step fold card this time using Teddy Bear Parade, Doodlecharms and Wild Card carts...
  • TBP cart: Bear cut at 3" (make sure Real Dial Size is off that way the outfit cuts at the right size)
  • DC cart: Heart Border cut at 1", 1.5" and 2" (don't you love it, a ton of hearts with just 3 die cuts)
  • WC cart: I Love You cut at 2" WITH Real Dial Size ON!
To make it a little easier for me when making my bears....
  • I just tape a piece of scrap black paper to the back of the head for the eyes
  • Use a black sharpie marker for the nose
  • Pink color pencil to fill in the ears
  • Tan/peach color pencil for the muzzle and belly
  • White gel pen to give some dimension with the eyes and nose
  • Black fine tip marker pen for eyelashes, bottom of the ears and the mouth.
  • The bear is raised up using pop up tape. Love just cutting off one big piece, very convenient.
Thanks for stopping by and check out My Cricut Craft Room for other great projects!

Tribute to Proverbs 31...

0
Here is another card I did for Twist of Faith Card Challenge Blog.  This is a new- to- me blog, love the card ideas they have.  I used various Stamping Up sets for all the images/sentiment and some pattern paper and ribbon.

Inspiration is Proverbs 31 woman... here is just a small piece of the verses but my favorites...She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.  When she speaks her words are wise and she gives instruction with kindness.  She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.  Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her...

Fun in the Sun Hop

24
Welcome to “Fun In The Sun” Blog Hop! So glad you can join us!

If you are coming from Lucy, then you are in the right spot. If you just happened to stumble upon my site or your reading this via e-mail, please start at MIRANDA'S BLOG so you don’t miss anyone’s amazing projects!
We will be showcasing summer time projects! In addition to seeing some awesome projects, there is some blog candy available too!

For my project today, I created a CAS (cute and simple) layout:
a summer layout of Em's first vs to the beach...
A very easy and simple layout...
- Used a "sand" design paper, summer fun embellishment packet and some blue lined pattern paper. Layouts don't have to be riddled with tons of details.
-Let the pictures speak for themselves ie:  She wouldn't go in the sand, she had to stay on the blanket which had to be clean at all times.  And when I finally got her in the water, she wouldn't sit without crying so she ended up sitting on my feet.
- A good layout will always bring back the great memories captured by the camera.

Scrapping for Less is offering a $20 credit to the winner of the hop. You must comment on each stop in order to be eligible to win the credit. Just click on the image below in order to go to group and ask to join. Thanks for hopping with us today.
