Cutting Fabric with the Silhouette

Hello, Friends!  Today I'm planning on cutting fabric with my Silhouette Cameo.  I've been meaning to do something like this for 3 years!

Here's What You'll Need: Fabric - I bought 1/4 of a yard of a pink cotton print for $1.21 (I have a LOT leftover)Wonder Under or Heat 'N Bond - I bought a package of 2 yards for $2.99 (lots of this leftover as well)Something to Put the Fusible Fabric On - I'm using a baby's gownCutting Machine or Scissors - I'm using a Silhouette CameoIron

Step 1: Wash and dry the fabric.  Since I purchased cotton, I didn't want it to shrink after being applied.
Step 2: Using scissors, I cut a rectangle of fabric and Wonder Under for my project.  In all, I cut less than    8" x 10".
Step 3: Iron the rough side of the Wonder Under to the wrong side of the fabric for 5 seconds with a hot, dry iron.  Set aside.
Step 4: Decide what you're going to cut.  I decided on the name "LUCY" and a few little butterflies…

Another Friday Layout to share

The above two 12x12 layouts are ready to place photos in the empty spots, and than print and place in a scrapbook.  These two pages I worked on while in El Paso, Texas visiting and helping my son and family as my DT duties was put on hold while there. (No machines, cardstock etc to work with!!)
Now this digital 4x6 layout is completed, just needs to be printed.  But, in this case, I need to order more plastic cover sheets....

The embellishments from various scrapbook kits; and Snowman with Lights I believe from misskatecuttables; and 2014 I loaded the paper into Adobe Photoshop Elments and created a mask of the numbers to give it the newspaper look (thanks to the tutorials over at Pixel Scrapper Digital Scrapbooking).
I hope your enjoyed today's project too. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Also, you can join up to our Facebook group: Scrapbook Blessings Club for more fun, games, inspiration, tips and techniques. Thank you for …

Tea Towel Tutorial

Hello, Friends!  Marilyn here with a tutorial on how to create tea towels from flour sacks.  Once you get the hang of this, you could use this idea to scan all kinds of designs to put on your flour sacks.

For example (think Mother's Day gifts here)

Children's Art WorkOld Family Recipes

I created this tea towel for my kitchen using the following:

Flour Sack Towels: I purchased a set of 4 from Target for $3.99Ink Transfer Paper:  Mine is a specialty paper from RPL Supplies.  But you can purchase transfer paper from an Office Supply store.Printer:  I have a Ricoh 7100.  If you're using transfer paper from an office supply store, you can use your home printer.Heat Press or Iron:  You'll need a hot iron to transfer the image from the paper to the towel.  Follow the instructions on your transfer paper.  If using a heat press, press for 20 seconds at 375 degrees.Image:  You will need an image to put onto your towel.  I used an image from My Vinyl Designer.  But you could scan a…

Love Is In the Air - 2 page layout

Page One Page Two
Srapbook Kit will be available at Creative Kuts online store soon.  This was the February Scrapbook Kit that was offered to the passengers of the Creative Kuts Choo Choo Train over at Creative Kut's Facebook page.  If you would like to join us as passengers, you will need a invite to the group (closed group) and than inquire of Cheryl or read info on what to do to become a passenger.
Everything is included in the cut file for the two page scrapbook layout.  Only change I made was I loaded the kissing couple into my Make the Cut software, put the pieces together and than saved as a jpeg file.  Once I completed that, I loaded into paint.net and converted to a png file; and than loaded into Cricut Design Space, print and cut and I have a completed couple.  The first page was cut with my Silhoutte Cameo, page two all but the "Is In The Air" cut with my Cricut Explore.  "Is In the Air", to complete the page, I cut with my Cameo!!

I used my Cricut Explore to cut these.  The more I used my Explore the more I LOVE it :-)  LOL!

Canvas Art Puppy Love

Hello, Friends!  Marilyn here with a very simple art project.

Here's what you'll need:

Four Small Canvases - mine are 4" square
Cardstock - black and white
ModPodge - or white glue
Paint - I used red
Cutting Machine - Silhouette or Cricut or scissors to cut letters and shapes

Step 1:  Cut out your letters and shapes.  I using the Silhouette to cut mine.  But, Cricut has some great fonts that you can use.  My images are all cut at 2.75".  I also found a cute paw print to use instead of the letter "O".

Step 2:  Paint the little canvas squares.  I purchased a package of these 4" square canvases at Michaels before Christmas.  I used red paint and put on 2 coats, drying about 15 minutes between coats.

Step 3:  ModPodge (or glue) the letters and images to the painted canvases.  I put a thin layer of ModPodge on first, then a letter, then a very thin layer of ModPodge on top.

Step 4:  Hang up your art work and admire.  You only need thump tacks to hang.

I hop…

Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today.  I've got an easy, CAS Valentine's Day card to share with you.  I just saw some random cuts on my desk.  They were left over from decorating the kiddos Valentine boxes for school, so I'm sorry I don't really know the exact sizes.  This is what I turned some of them into :-)

Recipe:
The Paper Studio - tiny hearts embossing folder
random left over V-day cuts ( heart measures 1 3/4" tall)
grosgrain white ribbon
white button
red sequins

I told you it was easy :-)  Thanks for stopping by today.

Good morning scrappy and crafty friends. Barbara here with the Friday layout.

MY TIP-When you are using lace on a layout, tape it to the back of the paper. If you are going to attach anything over the lace, attach it with strong liquid glue like Glossy Accents. Drape lace over one ov the corners of your layout and attach with tape to the back also.

Here is my completed layout for today. It is my adopted mom. She is the mother of my two best friends and after my own mother died she has been like a mom to me.

The brown background paper is Bo bunny The bird paper is blue fern studio prima flowers, tags petaloo burlap flowers and butterfly CTMH black epoxy dots bird rub on from Tim Holtz

Tear off the corners of the bird print paper, Ink edges with brown or black ink. attach bird print paper. Attach lace across and drape over corner as shown. Attach flowers, tags and photo with Glossy Accents.
I hope your enjoyed today's project too. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave…
