Welcome back to Day 3 of our Beachy Hop.
So did you get my theme for this hop?!?! On day 1, I used Gelatos, On day 2, I used regular dye ink and for day 3, I used watercolors. Now for day 4, I decided to go with... CHALKS!
Yep, I am using different coloring mediums this hop.

So for this card, I used two different embossing plate, a swirl and a diamond. Then using chalks in lite blue and tan, I colored the embossed area with a sponge.  The cute seagull images was colored with Spectrun Nior (another medium) and fussy cut. Then I just adhered to the card front. For a little more color I used some bakers twine. Looking back, I wish I used some jute. I might have to fix that, lol.

So that is our January hop. I am so glad you hopped along!!! Until next month folk, bye, bye!!!  Oh wait a minute, I meant for the hops, but I know you are stopping by everyday to check out the great posts from the SBC DT?!?!?!  LOL.

So I started playing with my new set of Gansi Tambi Watercolors and can I say, I am in LOVE!!! I dabble with watercoloring, trying to find the easiest and "beginner" techniques. So this is my first full out watercoloring scene, and I am just impressed on how easy this was with the Gansi Watercolors.

Valentine's Day Cards For Kids

0
Inside of each card
Hello Crafty Friends! Brenda here with some super easy Valentine card crafting! With February fast approaching I have been working on some Valentine's Day cards for the annual "Cards From The Heart Card Drive".  To read more about the card drive head on over here.  After using my Mickey cards from Typo last week (see cards on previous post here).  I thought that I would use them again for my Valentine cards.  I created five cards to send off to the card drive.  Due to the requirements of the card drive I had to refrain from adding any embellishments to my cards.

Recipe:

Mickey & Minnie cards from Typo
Mickey die cuts and heart die cuts - Cricut cartridge
Embossing folders
Sentiment & heart stamps by Close To My Heart
Cardstock from my stash

I have really enjoyed "shopping" in my own craft room.  I have had these Mickey cards from Typo for awhile and not used them.  It has been fun to finally create cards with them.  Is there anything in your craft room just sitting there unopened waiting to be used?  If so I encourage you to open up the package and start creating.

I hope that you enjoyed today's Valentine cards. If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Also, you can join up to our Facebook group: Scrapbook Blessings Club for more fun, games, inspiration, tips and techniques. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day! I WANNA GO TO THE BEACH BLOG HOP:"Fingerpaint" Bookmarker Tutorial

WELCOME

So here is a quick tutorial I did using Gelatos. They are one of my favorite coloring mediums!

"Fingerpaint" Bookmarker
  by Sandy Hentzel

Supplies needed:
Gelatos or Gel Crayons
Washi tape
1 white watercolor paper base2x6
2 pieces of cardstock:
extra mat papers @ 2.25x6 and 2.50x6
water
hole punch
ribbon or fibers
Stamp (sets)
Momento Ink
and your finger!!!

1. Tear of a piece of washi tape and attach 1/3 way down paper,
then start laying down some color from GEL crayons or Gelatos.

2. Dip your finger in water and start to blend the gelato. If
paper gets too wet, just let it air dry or hit it with the heat gun
for a couple seconds.
When your finger starts to feel dry on the gelato, dip your
finger in water and start blending again... hence our adult
version of "Fingerpaints"!!!

3. Gently remove washi tape and add a new piece where you
just colored ( make sure it is dry first). Now you are ready
to color the middle of the paper.
I added a couple of different colors to blend together to make
it look like water and not the sky again. I placed the yellow in the
middle like a sunset.

4. After I finger painted the water, I thought it was still too close
to the sky color. So I placed a little of the blue and purple colors,
dipped my finger into the water and started to blend the colors
together. Gelatos/Gel Crayons are so easy to work with.

5. Now for the bottom of the book marker.  I used whatever yellows
and golds I can find. Scribble on the color and then using your finger
dipped in water, start blending the colors together

6. To make it look ragged and more of a beachy feel, I tore off a
couple of pieced of washi tape and placed them with the torn
side down.  Then I started blending the color up towards the
tape.

7. Picking out a few stamps, use the Momento Ink to stamp
the images. It shows up real nice on the Gelatos.

8. Lastly, punch a small hole at the top and thread a ribbon or
like I used, some fibers to make a tassle.

Up Next is Shirley

Cookie Making Day

0
Hello everyone, Cristina here to share with you a Project Life layout I recently put together. I really haven't made a full 12x12 layout in such a long time so I really enjoy just putting some layouts together with Project Life or any other brand. We are all so busy with life, kids, work, honestly not enough time in the day, this is why its good to just sit down and put pictures and cards together to at least get some time for yourself and to do what you love and that's create. Let's get to it!!

In this layout I used Project Life Christmas. I actually found this one at Hobby Lobby awhile ago. Its a smaller package which worked great. I used some embellishments by Heidi Swapp, My Yellow Bicycle, and MAMBI.

I hope your enjoyed today's project too. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Hello!

2
Hey kids!  Cindy back on the SBC blog today.  I have a cute card to share with you.  I used black cardstock for the mat layers on all the elements of this card.  I think it really makes it pop.

I picked this ADFD image.  Isn't she the cutest with her buttoned up dress and shoes, from back in the day???  LOL!  Love her!  And then I also added the tiny black bling to match her dress and shoes.  I love to pull details from the image to help embellish my projects.  It gives them a cohesive look.

Recipe:
ADFD image - Picked Flowers
watercolor pencils
Heidi Swapp stack - Sept Skies - all patterned papers
Heidi Swapp sentiment stamp
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart - oval @ 4 1/2"
black bling

Wednesday YouTube Tutorial - Side Step Rocker Cards

2
I love Side Step cards and Rocker cards, so when I was looking through this months issue of Quick Cards Made Easy I was thrilled to see a Side Step Rocker card!!! Or course since the magazine is from the UK, all the measurements are metric....and I don't have the patience to do the conversions.  So I just came up with my own measurements.  I also decided to try to figure out how to make it with TWO steps instead of one....and with some trial and error I figured out how to do that too.  Now it's time for you to watch the video to see how to make this awesome card fold!

I hope your enjoyed today's tutorial. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Paper Bag Mini album Part 1

0
Hey kids.  Cindy back on the SBC blog today.  I decided to create a paper bag mini album.  I got the idea from Maymay Made It Crafts.  This is still a work-in-progress.  I got the basic mini book, the mats for each page, and the tags with tabs that go into each pocket (open end of the bag), and the cover done so far.  I'll post a follow up post soon with all the pages and pictures done.  My daughter decided to switch from soccer to softball this past fall so I wanted to document her first season.

Recipe:
Red Celebrate It paper bags (Michael's) I used 5 but you could use more.
Recollections single sheets - red /white dot, red wave, red stripe
The Paper Studio single sheets - black chevron, black stripes
From My Kitchen Cricut cart - tabs @ 2 1/2"
Plantin Schoolbook Cricut cart - circle @ 3/4" (on the tabs sticking out on the side)  These are attached to cards that you can put pictures on and hid in the pockets.
Father's Day Cricut cart - ball/bat welded in CCR
red jute twine

Thanks for stopping by today.  If you have a question or suggestions, please leave it in the comments.

Valentine Card

1

Teresa here from over @ Fresh and Renewed...I am doing a Valentine Series this month so bookmark or set your calendar to check out my cards each Wednesday and Friday.

Today's Thankful Thought: I am thankful for my dentist who was able to discern immediately what was wrong. I had some dental work last Thursday and have increasingly felt bad/sick since Friday...it got really bad on Monday so Tuesday morning when I wasn't feeling better I called the office...he called in an antibiotic and wanted to see me today, took one x-ray and one quick peek back by the tooth and knew immediately what the problem was and how to fix it! So, this is the reason for the missed post on Wednesday. Hopefully, I am on the mend and can get some cards made and posts scheduled so I am not always scrambling!

Onto today's Valentine card...I purchased several Valentine card making supplies recently when I put in an order. So my basket of supplies overfloweth! With my time limited to get this card made this afternoon and my energy a bit depleted I grabbed some of the items that would make for an easy card. I love how it turned out.

Supplies Used:

My Favorite Things: XO Cover Up Die, Heart Balloons Stamp Set, Pink Lemonade Cardstock
Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Spun Sugar, Festive Berries, Picked Raspberries
Tim Holtz Watercolor paper
Doodlebug: Lovebug Paper

I hope you enjoyed the card and will join me next Wednesday for Card #4.  Have a fabulous day!

I hope your enjoyed today's project too. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. New Year, Time to Organize

6

Hello Crafty Friends!  Now that the holidays are over I find myself in an organizing mood!  I am organizing everything from my kitchen pantry to the garage.  I love to organize and reorganize my craft room.  Sometimes I feel as if I spend more time going through my supplies and trying out different storage systems than I do actually crafting.  Anyone else feel the same?  There is one thing that I constantly come back to when I am organizing and it is this clear 12 x 12 plastic envelope.  I use them for many things.

I use them to store my solid colored 12x12 cardstock.  I place the card stock in the envelope and then the envelope goes on the shelf.  I love that when I attend a crop I can just grab the particular cardstock color that I need and go.  These envelopes also come in handy when I am working with my Cricut.  Sometimes I am unsure of what color shade I want to use.  With these I can just glance through the colors.  I also use these to store vacation memorabilia in.  Love, love, love these for that purpose (can you tell that I love them? Ha-ha).  After vacation I put all my memorabilia in one, label it & shelf it until I am ready to scrap it.  I also do the same with my daughter’s school memorabilia. I use one for each school year.

How many of you like to organize?  I would love it if you would share your paper/cardstock organizing tips with me.  Just leave a comment on this post.  I am curious if you store your paper/cardstock by color, by manufacturer, etc.?  What is your go-to system?

I hope your enjoyed today's topic. If you have any questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Also, you can join up to our Facebook group: Scrapbook Blessings Club for more fun, games, inspiration, tips and techniques. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day!
