Birthday Card to Share!

2

Teresa here from Fresh and Renewed! Another birthday card to share with you today. This is my very last post here at Scrapbook Blessings Club as I have decided to do some changing up over at my own company Scrapping for Less. In case you do not know Scrapping for Less is a Facebook Group/Store where I sell Scrapbook and Card supplies at less than retail cost. I will be needing to devote lots of time and energy over the next couple months to SFL cause lots of exciting things are going to be happening. So, it has been a fun ride over here at Scrapbook Blessings Club and I wish Sandy and Janie all the best in their future endeavors with the blog. So, what better way to go out than with a celebration card!

Today is my sister's birthday and there is one thing she absolutely loves is a handmade card. She also loves Copic coloring. So, I colored one up special just for her!

Supplies Used:
LaLaLand Kit February 2015: Shining Star Marci and Matching Dies
Paper Smooches: Salutations
Echo Park: Captured 6x6
Want to Scrap: Silver Bling
Copic Markers
White Wink of Stella
Kaisercraft Pearls

A funny story about the white wink of stella...I really meant to use clear but did not notice until I looked down at my card and wondered what in the world white got all over my stars. I totally laughed out loud as I realized well...that would have been because I did not look at the label on the cap before starting. Note to self: Look next time!

I hope your enjoyed today's project too. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments. Also, you can join up to our Facebook group: Scrapbook Blessings Club for more fun, games, inspiration, tips and techniques. Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed day! SBC Design Team Member

Welcome back for Day 3!  Here is another one of my favorite Card ideas. Soo easy and everyone likes getting them.... Easel Cards.  For this one, I wanted it to be an A2 size so when it is flat it will measure 5 1/2 x 4/ 1/4

Here it is flat. I have used this Paper and Design on another MFPS card. It is my favorite, easy design with just Pattern Paper.  I love this sentiment too!

Here it is open to an easel. I think the Oval frame popping up is cute.

Here I wanted to show you the Wink of Stella that I used to get glitter/shimmer on the butterflies. All you have to do is cover your clear stamps with the marker. Too easy!

Pop Out Flower Arrangement Card
by Sandy Hentzel

Items needed:
Floral Stamps
Black Ink
Coloring medium ( I choose Gelatos/Markers)
Stamp block
Multiple pieces of white cardstock
Pop dots or tape
Adhesive ( I used score tape)

1) Fold a piece of white cardstock in half and stamp flower pot image
along the creased edge of the paper. You can use a vase stamp or even
free hand cut a vase, just make sure it is along the edge that is folded.

2) Cut out image. As you can see below, the two sides are joined
at the bottom.

3) Add adhesive to the back of the top corners on the front piece
side.

4) Fold paper in half again, adhering the two corners together
 to make a pocket.

Here is what the flower pot pocket looks like when attached.
You can even shape it flatter by squeezing the paper some.

 5) You will want to color your image. I did it after I made the
pocket but you can do it before too.

6) Adhere the pocket to the front of your card, like so.

7) Now, have fun stamping your flowers, butterflies, etc. And
then start coloring them in. I got some new Gelotos so I was interested
in playing with those. But you can use, markers, pencils or paints.

8) After your done coloring, you want to fussy cut your images.

9) Start to place your flowers in your pot, arranging them how you want.
Place your first flowers right on the front of the card. Then using the pop
up tape or dots, start adding the next layers.

Here you can start to see how I started to layer the pop up tape to get more
dimension in the flower arrangement.

And here is the Pop OUT Flower Arrangement Card.

I love doing pop up cards but those images usually pop out in the
inside of the card. So I got to thinking how I would do it on the outside
of the card and viola... my version of a Pop OUT Card.
Hope your like it!

Woohoo, kicking off the first day of hop week!!!! I so look forward towards the end of the month and showcasing some projects for MFP Stamp Shop!  So let's jump right in...

So for hop, I decided to pick out card techniques that are my favorite.  This one here is a screen card that you get by using some paper punches. It is very easy and there is no running out to buy anything special.  Here is the tutorial for this card found at the MFP ning site HERE:
http://mfpspeedytv.ning.com/page/oriental-screen-card

See you back tomorrow where I share a new tutorial. Here is a hint...
flower arrangement on a card! WHAT?!?! I promise you, it is very easy!!!

Scrapbook Room Shut Down!

3
Teresa here from Fresh and Renewed....I don't have a card or anything for you today other than a few pictures to show why my crafting had to come to a screeching halt this week.

We are in the process of getting the entire inside of my house painted and although I had asked the painter to start in my scrapbook room there was a little glitch and he had to work in several stages....you see once upon a time I had high wall shelving up on the walls in my scrapbook room...the kind that is on tracking...then I decided to repaint the room and did not take the shelving down...fast forward to last year when I decided I totally needed to declutter that room and create a more inviting and tranquil space. I took the shelving down which created these stripes on the wall revealing the old paint job! I have stared at that for the last year and finally with our tax return money we decided to get the house painted (which thankfully included my scrapbook room)

Well, the painter was just going to sand a bit and then paint over the stripes area patching (without painting the entire wall) mainly cause I did not want to loose the red wall....but after several tests just could not get it to look right....so here comes my son to the rescue....(after his dad asked him could he step in and help). He sanded, mudded, and retextured the wall so the painter can come in and repaint those two walls...I decided to just have the red wall down in white to match the other two walls and bring the color into the room with the accents and decor.

So, here are the photos of a craft room shut down!

Tuesday Tips, Techniques, and Tutorials - Altered Mason Jar Vase

0
I not only love making cards, but I love creating home decor items.  Today I'm sharing a video on altering a Mason jar....or in this case a spaghetti sauce jar...using acrylic paints, ribbon, lace, and other items you might have around your craftroom.  In this video I don't show the actual process but I do talk you through it while showing you the finished product.  I hope you enjoy it and come up with some beautiful ideas of your own :)

Mystery Card Kit

0
Mystery Card Kit

We have been struggling along trying to figure out how to continue the card kits this year. We are going to continue for a few more months (at least that is the plan) with the concept of mystery card kits. You will not know what you are going to receive but the good thing is these will be the contents of the kit.

Mystery Card Contents
stamp
pattern paper (6 sheets of 6x6 paper)
cardstock (6 sheets of 6x6 paper)
embellishment package (4 types of embellishments, they may or may
not coordinate with the paper)
mixed media item (wink of stella, clean brush marker, distress marker, glue pen etc)
1 other item...TBD at time of putting kits together

Here is a sample pic of card kit:

So you may ask how can I play along? Are there still going to be kits as giveaways? How can I purchase a kit? Will these kits continue? What is the cost of the kit? All of these questions are answered below!

How can you play along?
You can play along by purchasing one of the mystery kits and upon receipt of the kit, create a card and upload your link using Mr. Linky below.

Are there still going to be kits as giveaways?
Yes...but since the purpose of creating the kit is to create sales for Scrapping for Less the way the giveaway will work is as follows: Buy this month's Mystery Kit (April), upon receipt of said kit create and link up, then you will be entered in the random drawing to receive the next month's kit (May).

How can I purchase a kit?
Head on over to Scrapping for Less and you can purchase a kit. Teresa will send kits out to you next mail day after purchase.

Will these kits continue?
We hope to keep them going for a few more months? But sales will determine if it is feasible.

What is the cost of the kit?
The cost of the kit is $15...U.S. shipping is included in that price. International shipping is extra...contact Teresa teresascraps@gmail.com to receive a shipping quote.
