Chameleon Pens Review

2
Hi everyone Tasha here to share with you a fun new marker I've recently discovered. They're called Chameleon Pens, and I recently purchased a set of "Skin Tones" to hopefully help with coloring stamped images. The reason I wanted this set was because it claims to be an all-in-one blending pen. Meaning, you can color, shade, and highlight without having to switch markers.

The set I purchased came with x5 double-sided pens, and each has it's own toner attachment.
The alcohol based pens are refillable and can be purchased individually. The current price for one pen is $5.99 USD. This price point is a good value if it can take the place of buying multiple pens.

The pen has two tips, similar to other alcohol markers. One is a bullet point, and the other is a nice brush tip (which I prefer). At the top of each pen is this capped toner part used to control the ink blending level when coloring.

You select which tip you want to use and hold the pen vertically, touching the pen nib to the tip of the "mixing nib." The longer you touch the two ends, the longer time you have to color before the original ink color shows. It took some practice, but the process is not bad at all.

Below is an example of each shade level after touching the mixing nib for about 5-6 seconds.
I found that it runs clear if you touch the two tips for about 10 seconds. The refills are available for each color and priced at $7.99 USD. The website stated that the bottle should last for 8-10 FULL refills, which is a great value!

I colored a  My Besties digital stamp image below to show some of the colors in action.
Img098 Best Besties Forever By Sherri Baldy

Pros:

  • The pen takes the place of buying three individual pens to get a good blend.
  • Price is reasonable
  • Refillable
  • After some practice the shading is really nice.
  • The company offers a nice selection of colors
Things to think about before buying...
  • The cost is always a factor and each pen, when brought individually is $5.99 USD
  • You have to practice the timing to get the shades you want, unlike having a pen in each color.
  • It does take longer to color an image, since you have to adjust your colors.

My personal review:
I'm glad I purchased this set. I'm always working on improving my skin tone coloring, and I think these pens will work great once I practice a little more. I like the color range and it's nice to be able to get multiple colors from one pen. I would like to buy another set in the future to try out a more vibrant color range. I'll let you all know how those are when I get around to trying them out.

Have a wonderful day,

-Tasha

Let's get started !!
Say the first word that comes to you when you hear
"The Great Outdoors"...
CAMPING!
We are a camping family in the summer! Can't get more outdoors than that!

For today's hop post, I wanted to show an easy tutorial. We are using stamps to make a very easy and cute layout. Stamps are a great way to personalize your pages.

Easy Scrapbook Layout
by Sandy Hentzel

Materials needed:
Stamps
Ink
Cardstock
Paper Slicer
Adhesive
markers or pencils
(photos)

You can make your layout base any size. The most popular is 8x8, 12x12 and 8.5x11.
For my project, I went with an 8x8 white base so that the stamps will show up nicely.
Using color card stock, I decided I wanted a triple mat. HTe first one measures 4x6 and
then the greens go up by an 1/4inch.

After cutting out your mattes, place your stamps (clean) on your layout to give you an idea
of placement. You don't want anything to cover your photos.

Using your ink, you will then stamp your images. You can either stamp all your images in black
or you can use color ink like I did here.

After I stamp my images, I used my Prisma Color pencils to color them.  I wanted to you the sentiment "Eat, Sleep, Camp" as an embellishment so I fussy cut it and will adhere it over top of the photo with some pop dots.  Stamps make great embellishments if you are stuck on sticker ideas.

And here is the final layout. All I need is my favorite photo of the kiddos camping last year and put it in the family coffee table scrap book.

I hope this tutorial inspires you to use your stamps on something other than a card.

Animals

Yep, the second thing that comes to mind is animals. More specifically, forest animals. Owls are one of my favorites.

(This is an older card, but I just had to add it because it is an owl!!!)

The tree trunk was fun to make, I just used the wood grain background stamp and cut out the trunk and branches.

MHK DESIGNS JUNE RELEASE BLOG HOP - DAY 5

MHK Designs July Release Blog Hop - Day 5

I love butterflies and was so excited to get to use the "Butterfly Elements" stamp set as well as a paper from MHK Designs "Easter Flowers" digital paper pack

I'm showing the side view so you can see that I dimensionalized it.  To do that I printed the image twice....once on the cardstock for the front of the card, and a second time so I could color two of the butterflies and cut them out.  I attached one to the center butterfly, and added the other to the top of the oval that I printed the sentiment on.   I only adhered the center of the butterflies and lifted the wings to give them dimension.

To find this image set please visit

Butterfly Embellishment Tutorial

1
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share an awesome way to use up those extra scraps of paper we all have and make some super cute butterfly embellishments. Using scrap paper not only helps reduce waste, but it also helps save money when crafting.
In the tutorial, I will show you how to create quick little paper butterflies that look just as cute as anything you would buy from a store.

Thanks for visiting the Scrapbook Blessing Club Blog, and have a great day!
-Tasha :)

Supplies: Scrap Paper (Note: double-sided works best) | Adhesive | Butterfly Punch
Optional Supplies: Liquid Glue | Glitter | Gems

Step 1: Punch out X3 butterflies

Step 2: Add adhesive vertically down the center of the first layer and attach the second layer.

*Repeat Step 2 until all your layers are attached.

Step 3: While pressing on the center, gently curl the wings on each side.

*Optional Step 4: Embellish with rhinestones and glitter.

We hope your enjoyed today's project. If you have a questions or suggestions, please leave it in the comments.
