Hello crafty people! I am bringing you a topic that I like to revisit every so often. If you are both a scrapbooker and a card maker, then you'll know that the supplies don't vary too much from one another. However, if you're only a scrapbooker, it can be hard to try and make cards without owning stamps or embossing. Today, I tackle making a card without typical card making supplies!
I used some plain Kraft colored cardstock to create my base of an A2 sized card. I then grabbed a 6x6 paper pad to find a background paper. You can use any size paper for your backgrounds which is convenient for using up some of that scrapbook paper. I cut this piece in to 4" x 5 1/4".
The video explains my decision process a little more, but there are so many options when it comes to making cards like these that there's no one right way. I pulled out a cut apart that worked as a sentiment for my card. Most of the piece were from the Simple Stories Pumpkin Spice collection. I distressed all of my layers to give a more rugged look.
I boosted my sentiment flag up on some foam adhesive to give more definition. I also wanted to balance out the sentiment in the top right by adding something to the bottom left. To solve this dilemma I paired two dicuts, a pumpkin and a heart.
To add a final touch to this autumn greeting card, I used some Fancy Pants dots for more color and shine. I think the challenge of making a card without using traditional supplies like stamps is really fun. I highly recommend it to you all to try out! I hope you enjoyed!
